The National Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod is one of the only two national language universities in Russia. It is also a major center for training translators and interpreters and is in a leading position in the field of language education.

History and establishment time

In 1917, Nizhny Novgorod established a municipal language course. On this basis, Gorky Foreign Language Teachers College was established in 1937. In 1964, the Department of Western European Language Translation was established. In 1994, it was awarded the status of a language university.
