1. School Positioning Qingdao Vocational and Technical College is a provincial and municipal full-time general higher vocational college established in 2000 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is mainly engaged in full-time higher vocational education and social vocational skills training, taking into account adult academic education, Sino-foreign cooperative academic education and primary and secondary school teachers and principals training, etc. It has the qualifications to receive foreign students and employ foreign cultural and educational experts. There are more than 800 faculty and staff members and more than 16,000 full-time higher vocational students. 2. School Philosophy The school adheres to the school motto of "cultivating ability and applying", the school spirit of "being virtuous and happy to learn, cultivating ability and applying", and the style of study of "enjoying learning, thinking well, and integrating knowledge and action". It builds and continuously improves the "party building leading four links and four drives" three-dimensional education system, through the four-party linkage of "school and society, school and enterprise, school and family, college and academy" and the four-dimensional drive of "ideological and political education, professional education, cultural education, and practical education", and fully implements the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people. III. Historical evolution In November 1951, Qingdao Education and Industry Amateur College was established. The famous biologist and educator Tong Dizhou and the master of Chinese studies Lu Kanru served as the director of the school affairs committee and the principal respectively. In August 1953, Qingdao Education and Industry Amateur College was rebuilt into Qingdao Teachers Continuing Education College. In July 1958, Qingdao Teachers Continuing Education College established the Normal College Department and was renamed Qingdao Work-Study Normal College, and later renamed Qingdao Normal College. In August 1970, Qingdao Teachers Continuing Education College was abolished. In December 1977, the college was restored as Qingdao Teachers Continuing Education College and Qingdao Normal College (one school with two names). In October 1977, Qingdao Workers' Amateur University was established. In April 1981, Qingdao Teachers Continuing Education College was rebuilt into Shandong Province Qingdao Teachers Continuing Education College, and later merged with Qingdao Normal colleges were separated and set up independently. In April 1983, Shandong Qingdao Teachers Training College was renamed Qingdao Education College. In January 1992, Qingdao Workers’ Amateur University was renamed Qingdao Workers’ University. In June 1999, Qingdao Vocational and Technical College was established on the basis of Qingdao Workers’ University. In October 2000, Qingdao Workers’ University was rebuilt into Qingdao Vocational and Technical College. In April 2002, Qingdao Education College and Qingdao Vocational and Technical College merged to form a new Qingdao Vocational and Technical College. 4. The school offers majors: mechatronics technology, electrical automation technology, numerical control technology. The school conducts the following major training services: service outsourcing training, teacher training for the Ministry of Education and the National Vocational Education Alliance, volunteer service training, vocational qualification appraisal training, government-commissioned training, enterprise employee training, and adult education. VI. Faculty The school currently has 807 faculty members, of which about 80% are full-time teachers, 89% of whom have a master's degree or above, and 36% have senior professional titles. The school adheres to the integration strategy and actively builds a teaching team. It has successively hired more than 100 influential great craftsmen, skilled craftsmen, experts and scholars such as Xu Zhenchao, Zhang Liangang, Pi Jinjun, Zhou Yong, and Guo Rui as industry professors and moral education mentors, and has more than 1,000 part-time teachers in industries and enterprises. 19 industry skill masters and famous teacher studios such as Tang Yuansheng Studio and Guo Lei Studio have been built. There are more than 110 provincial and municipal training bases including the Shandong Service Outsourcing Training Base, the Shandong New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion New Generation Information Technology Public Training Base, and the Qingdao Service Outsourcing Training Base.
