Introduction to the University of Dschang:
Introduction: The University of Dschang is located in the town of Dschang in western Cameroon. It is an important institution of higher learning in Cameroon, offering bilingual teaching in French and English.
Overview: The school has more than 800 academic staff and 14,000 students, and its organizational structure includes five colleges and two institutes.
History: Its predecessor was the University Center of Dschang (UCD), which was established in 1977 by decree of the President of Cameroon. In 1978, the National Higher Agricultural College in Yaoundé and the Agricultural Technology Institute in Dschang were merged into UCD. In 1981, the University of Florida in the United States provided assistance to it through the "Agricultural Education Project". In 1993, UCD was upgraded to the University of Dschang.
