Jiangsu Vocational and Technical College of Economics and Trade is located in Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. Its predecessor can be traced back to the Southern Jiangsu Zhenjiang Commercial School founded in 1952. It was the beginning of Jiangsu's independent establishment of business education after the founding of New China. In 2002, it was converted from Jiangsu Business Management Cadre College and Jiangsu Business School into a higher vocational college. In 2007, it was selected as the first batch of demonstration higher vocational colleges in Jiangsu Province. In 2010, it was selected as a national demonstration (backbone) higher vocational college construction unit. From 2017 to 2018, it was selected as a high-level (excellent) higher vocational college construction unit in Jiangsu Province. In 2019, it was selected as a construction unit of a high-level higher vocational school with Chinese characteristics. The school currently has two campuses, Jiangning and Guanghua, with nearly 14,000 full-time students; it has 12 teaching institutions including the School of Digital Business, the School of Accounting and Auditing, the School of Finance, the School of Culture and Tourism, the School of Health, the School of Digital Media and Art Design, the School of Internet of Things and Intelligent Engineering, the School of Physical Education, the School of Marxism, the Boya Holistic Education School, the School of International Education, and the School of Continuing Education; it connects with modern business services, financial technology services, cultural tourism, health services and artificial intelligence industries, and creates a professional cluster of "two benchmarks, two characteristics and one cultivation", covering disciplines such as management, economics, and engineering. The school implements the party's education policy, implements the fundamental task of moral education, integrates the cultivation and practice of socialist core values into the whole process of talent cultivation, promotes the reform of training models and education and teaching, and promotes the all-round development of students. The school has won 4 national teaching achievement awards, hosted 3 national vocational education professional teaching resource library construction projects, and took the lead in formulating 2 professional teaching standards; 180 university student entrepreneurship parks were selected as the first batch of national university student entrepreneurship demonstration parks and national university student science and technology entrepreneurship internship bases; students participated in skill competitions and innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and won good results; graduates are honest, good at communication, understand business, and start businesses, which are well received by the society.
