Guangdong Women's Vocational and Technical College is the only public women's vocational college in South China directly under the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. It was founded in 1981. In April 2020, the school was identified as a provincial model higher vocational college; in 2022, it was approved as a "provincial high-level higher vocational college construction plan cultivation unit"; in the 2022 and 2023 "Innovation and Strengthening School Project" assessment, it ranked 9th and 11th among the province's Class A higher vocational colleges; in March 2023, our school was approved to establish a provincial doctoral workstation. Since 2015, the school has been recognized as a provincial model school for school governance according to law, a provincial model school for innovation and entrepreneurship education for college students, a provincial safe and civilized campus, a national model school for digital campus construction in vocational colleges, a provincial vocational college "dual-teacher" teacher training base, a provincial higher vocational college cultural quality education construction base, a provincial college Chinese excellent traditional culture inheritance base, a national family education society Guangzhou training base, and a Guangzhou intangible cultural heritage inheritance base. The school is currently in a development pattern of one school and three districts. It currently has Panyu Campus and Haizhu Campus, and Qingyuan Vocational Education City Campus is under construction. The Panyu Campus is adjacent to Guangzhou Asian Games City and is located in the hinterland of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The campus environment is elegant, the school conditions are excellent, and the teaching facilities are complete. The Haizhu Campus is near the Guangzhou Tower. In March 2016, it was approved by the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security as the "Second Batch of Regional (Characteristic) Entrepreneurship Incubation Bases", becoming a provincial-level regional shared "Guangdong Women's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base" and was included in the Zhongda International Innovation Ecological Valley system. In 2022, it was rated as the "Guangdong Province Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Practice Base". The school also co-built the Panyu Affiliated Kindergarten of Guangdong Women's Vocational and Technical College with the Panyu District Education Bureau. It is the first full-time public kindergarten jointly organized by the government and the school in Panyu District. The school currently has more than 9,100 students, with five full-time secondary colleges including the School of Education, the School of Foreign Languages and Foreign Trade (International Exchange College), the School of Tourism and Business, the School of Applied Design, and the School of Management. It also has the School of Marxism, the Department of Physical Education, the School of Continuing Education, and the School of Entrepreneurship, with nearly 30 majors. It has 2 backbone majors of the Ministry of Education, 4 provincial brand majors, 10 provincial key majors, and 4 professional groups including preschool education, e-commerce, international economics and trade, and industrial and commercial enterprise management have been approved for provincial high-level professional group construction. There are 4 national-level training bases, 13 provincial-level higher vocational education training bases, 4 provincial-level public training centers, 7 school-enterprise co-construction collaborative education centers (innovation centers), and a library collection of nearly 800,000 books. In the past five years, students have won a total of 169 awards in various national and provincial vocational skills competitions. Graduates are favored by employers, and the employment rate remains above 98% on average. An independent survey by a third-party agency shows that graduates' satisfaction with their alma mater is over 98%, which is much higher than the national average for similar colleges. In 2022 and 2023, the school ranked 5th and 4th in the province in the national vocational college satisfaction ranking respectively. The school has a team of teachers with a reasonable professional, academic, professional title, and age structure, and strong teaching and scientific research capabilities. There are about 400 faculty and staff, including 323 full-time teachers; 3 national and provincial industry masters, and 36 part-time teachers from provincial high-level skilled enterprises. Among the full-time teachers in the school, 31.58% have senior professional titles, and 73.68% have obtained a master's degree or above. Each major has a group of young and energetic teaching backbones and academic leaders, and outside experts, entrepreneurs and professionals with rich practical experience in the industry are hired as members of the professional guidance committee. The school is fully committed to promoting the reform of the "three-in-one" work-study talent training model. In December 2012, the school, in conjunction with nearly 100 government agencies, industries, enterprises, research institutions, social organizations, colleges and universities, and secondary vocational schools, took the lead in creating my country's first women's vocational education group - Guangdong Women's Vocational Education Group, forming a school-running system and operating mechanism that integrates government, industry, school and enterprise. In March 2016, the school took the lead in establishing the Guangdong Women's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance, and the Haizhu campus was built into a provincial regional and characteristic "entrepreneurship incubation base". The school is the only designated training base for young and middle-aged female cadres by the Party School of the Guangdong Provincial Committee. Since 1991, it has trained 60 consecutive students and trained nearly 3,000 young and middle-aged female cadres for Guangdong and even Xinjiang and Tibet. The school has also established friendly cooperative relations with many universities and women's organizations in Hong Kong, Macao, Japan, the United States, Germany, Australia and other countries, and has cooperated with many well-known universities in Guangdong Province to hold undergraduate classes. The school takes "moral education" as its fundamental task, aims to cultivate innovative female technical and skilled talents with noble morals, elegant temperament and high-tech skills, give full play to gender advantages, create a brand of girls' schools, and form a multi-form school-running pattern that focuses on higher vocational education for women, vigorously develops women's cadre education, women's skills training, women's innovation and entrepreneurship education, and serves women's lifelong education. The school takes the "Innovation and Strengthening School Project" as an important starting point to improve quality and continuously deepens education and teaching reforms. Since its establishment, the school has made positive contributions in developing women's potential, promoting women's employment, exploring women's characteristic education, and promoting the harmonious development of men and women. Leaders at all levels have given cordial care to the Women's College. Party and state leaders such as Zhang Dejiang, Wang Yang, Chen Muhua, Peng Peiyun, and Gu Xiulian, and provincial leaders such as Zhu Xiaodan, Lu Ruihua, Zhang Guoying, Li Hongzhong, Liu Yupu, Lin Shaochun, Wen Lanzi, Lei Yulan, Wang Xi, and Qin Weizhong have visited the school many times, highly praised the school's operation and placed high hopes on it.
