Hebei Software Vocational and Technical College is located in Baoding, a famous historical and cultural city. It is located next to Baiyangdian Lake, the ancient lotus pond, and is located in the capital area, adjacent to Xiong'an New Area. The college is a full-time general higher vocational and technical college directly under the Hebei Provincial Department of Education. It is also the first independent higher vocational college in the province that focuses on information technology education. The college was founded in 1972. In its 50-year history, the college has adhered to the fundamental task of "establishing morality and cultivating people", the school-running model of "zero distance between the college and the society, and zero distance between students and positions", and insisted on serving the regional economic and social development. It has gradually clarified the school-running positioning of "based in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and serving ICT", continuously deepened education and teaching reforms, innovated talent training models and school-running systems and mechanisms, and formed a distinctive school-running feature of connecting with emerging industries and serving regional development, and achieved high-quality development of various undertakings. The college actively connects with national strategies such as the construction of Xiongan New Area, the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, "Internet +", and "Made in China 2025", and actively adapts to the development trend of the new generation of information technology and the Internet economy. With information and communication technology as the core, it focuses on strategic emerging industries, advanced manufacturing, and modern service industries, focusing on building eight major professional groups such as software big data, Internet of Things, cloud computing, animation production, intelligent manufacturing, construction engineering, e-commerce, and accounting and finance, and cultivates high-quality technical and skilled talents with an international perspective for production, construction, management, and service. Since the college started higher vocational education, it has achieved fruitful results in running schools and won a series of honors. The college is the only national demonstration software vocational and technical college construction unit in Hebei Province determined by the Ministry of Education, a national high-quality junior college construction project unit, a national vocational education teacher teaching innovation team project construction unit, a "national model party building work branch" cultivation and creation unit, a rotating chairman unit of the national cloud computing industry-education integration community, a pilot unit for the construction of the "one-stop" student community comprehensive management model of the Ministry of Education, a national defense education characteristic school of the Ministry of Education, and the chairman unit of the Hebei Province New Generation Information Technology Vocational Education Group. It is a key demonstration higher vocational college in Hebei Province, an excellent college for the level of talent training in higher vocational colleges in Hebei Province, the first batch of college student entrepreneurship education demonstration schools, and an excellent school for the evaluation and inspection of college employment work. It won the honorary title of "Top 50 Influential Vocational Education in Asia-Pacific". In August 2021, the college was successfully selected for the Ministry of Education's vocational education demonstration virtual simulation training base cultivation project. Mr. Ni Guangnan, a famous computer expert and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, is the honorary dean of the college. The college currently has more than 500 faculty and staff, more than 12,000 students, a campus area of about 500 acres, and a total building area of about 224,000 square meters. There are 10 departments (departments) including the Department of Software Engineering, the Department of Digital Media, the Department of Computer Application Engineering, the Department of Network Engineering, the Department of Intelligent Engineering, the Department of Internet Business, the Department of Ideological and Political Theory Courses, the Department of Public Courses, the Department of Information Basics, and the Department of Physical Education.
