Jinzhong Normal College is a municipal college mainly engaged in training primary and preschool teachers. The predecessor of the school was the Shanxi Taigu Normal School, which was the same age as the Republic, and the Shanxi Taihang Normal School, which was established in 1985. In March 2010, the school took the lead in upgrading independently among the 16 middle and early childhood normal schools in the province, and was approved by the Ministry of Education to be a normal college, achieving leapfrog development.
