Historical Background

1946: Wonkwang University was founded by Dr. Park Gil-jin and was originally named "Only Xuelin".

1951: Wonkwang Junior University was established, and in September of the same year, the first president, Dr. Park Gil-jin, took office.

1973: Officially renamed Wonkwang University.

Modern: Wonkwang University has developed into a comprehensive private university covering multiple disciplines.
