History

The college was founded on September 27, 1928 by William G. Skelly, a Tulsa oilman and owner of Spartan Aircraft Company. It was originally established to promote the company's aircraft sales. In 1939, it was used by the United States Army Air Force as an advanced civilian pilot training school. In 1943, it was reorganized into a school with multiple colleges including aeronautical engineering. After World War II, Spartan Aircraft Company transformed and the school went through many changes of hands and names. In 2004, The name was changed to its current name in 2000.

Geographic location

The main campus is adjacent to Tulsa International Airport, and the other campus is located at Richard Lloyd Jones Airport in southern Tulsa. The superior geographical location provides students with convenient practice and internship conditions.
