Pacific Northwest College of Art was founded in 1909 and is located in Portland, Oregon. It is a private, non-profit art and design college. The following is a detailed introduction:

History

Founded in 1909 as the educational department of the Portland Museum of Art, it was originally called the Museum Art School. In 1981, it was renamed Pacific Northwest College of Art. In 1994, it became completely independent from the Portland Art Museum and merged into Willamette University in 2021.

Academic Programs

Undergraduate majors: There are 11 bachelor of fine arts programs, including communication design, contemporary animation art, general fine arts, illustration, cross-media, oil painting, printmaking, sculpture, etc.

Graduate majors: including degree programs such as Master of Fine Arts in Visual Studies and Master of Fine Arts in Applied Crafts and Design, as well as low-residency master's degree programs in fields such as creative writing and visual studies.

Teaching features: The course covers a wide range, focusing on combining abstract thinking and practice of design skills, using small classes, and each student has a dedicated teacher to guide.

Faculty
