History of the school
The college was originally founded by Isaac C. Ketler as Pine Grove Normal Academy and was renamed Grove City College in 1884.
In 1925, J. Gresham Machen gave lectures here, the content of which formed the basis of his book What is Faith? 》.
During World War II, the college was one of six schools selected by the U.S. Navy to participate in the Electronics Training Program, providing electrical engineering training for Navy and Marine Corps students.
