History:

In the 1960s, residents of Union County formed the Higher Education Commission in the hope of attracting a university to the area. In order to expand its influence throughout the state, the University of South Carolina agreed to establish a branch in Union County. In 1965, the campus began teaching with an initial enrollment of 51 students.

Location: Located in Union, South Carolina. The city is a relatively small city that provides students with a quiet and peaceful learning environment while also giving students the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of the local culture and community. In addition, the Union branch also has a branch campus in Lawrence.
