The Myrtle Beach campus of Galen College of Nursing is the newer campus of the school. Here is a detailed introduction to the campus:
School Overview
Focus on Nursing Education: Like other campuses of Galen College of Nursing, the Myrtle Beach campus is 100% focused on nursing education, investing all resources in the teaching of nursing majors and is committed to cultivating excellent nursing professionals.
Qualification Accreditation: The associate degree program in nursing at this campus is accredited by the American Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and the school itself is also accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Higher Education (SACSCOC), which guarantees the school's educational quality and degree recognition.
Location: The campus is located at 920 Doug White Drive, Suite 120 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The superior location provides students with abundant internship and employment opportunities.
Professional Settings
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN): This is a 2-year program suitable for students without nursing background. The course is based on clinical practice. Through hands-on learning, students can fully exercise their practical skills while learning theoretical knowledge, so as to be fully prepared to take the NCLEX-RN® licensed nurse qualification examination after graduation and become registered nurses.
LPN/LVN to ADN Bridge: It is designed for people who currently hold a license as a professional nurse (LPN) or a professional nurse (LVN). It can be completed in as fast as 15 months under full-time study. This course also focuses on the combination of practice and theory to help students smoothly transition to the role of registered nurses.
Online RN to BSN: It is designed for people who have obtained the qualification of registered nurses. All courses are completed online. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing can be obtained in as fast as 12 months, which is convenient for working nurses to improve their academic qualifications and professional level.
Online Master of Nursing (Online MSN): It provides nurses who have obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with the opportunity to further their studies. The course has two professional directions: nursing education and healthcare leadership, which can meet the career development needs of different students.
Teaching resources and facilities
Simulation laboratory: equipped with realistic manikin and various advanced medical equipment, it can simulate various real clinical scenarios, allowing students to practice in a safe and controllable environment, familiarize themselves with the nursing workflow in advance, and exercise clinical thinking and emergency response capabilities.
Clinical learning laboratory: provides students with a dedicated space to train clinical core skills, such as blood drawing, intravenous catheter insertion, wound care, etc., to help students closely combine theoretical knowledge with practical operations and better adapt to future nursing work.
Professional teaching team: It has a group of nationally recognized excellent teachers who not only have solid professional knowledge, but also have rich clinical and teaching experience. They can provide students with high-quality education and teaching guidance and help students solve various problems encountered in learning and practice.
