History:
The school was founded in 1941 and was originally named Central Utah Vocational School. It has since undergone several name changes, including Utah Trade Technical College, Utah Technical College in Provo, Utah Valley Community College, Utah Valley State College, and finally in July 2008 it was given the name of a university and renamed Utah Valley University.
