Historical development:
Originally known as Marian College (Indianapolis), it was founded in Oldenburg, Indiana in 1851 as a full-time women's college, famous for its two-year teacher training, and the teaching language was German.
It moved to Indianapolis in 1937 and began to officially enroll male students in 1954.
On July 1, 2009, the school announced that it was officially renamed Marian University.
Campus settings:
The school has two campuses, Indianapolis and Plymouth. The Indianapolis campus is the main campus, only 10 minutes away from the city center.
