Hulunbuir University is located in the northern border of the motherland, in Hulunbuir City, the most beautiful grassland in China and the most charming city with ethnic customs in China. It is the only full-time comprehensive undergraduate college in Hulunbuir City. The school was founded on Hulunbuir University, which was established in 1958, and resumed undergraduate and junior college enrollment in 1977. In 1992, Hulunbuir League Education College, Inner Mongolia Radio and Television University Hulunbuir League Branch, Hulunbuir Management Cadre College, and Hailar Normal College merged to form Hulunbuir University. In 1997, it was renamed Hulunbuir College with the approval of the former State Education Commission. After 2000, Hailar Mongolian Normal School, Hulunbuir League Commercial School, Hulunbuir League Urban Construction Workers Technical School, Inner Mongolia Engineering and Technology School, and Hailar Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Secondary Vocational School were successively incorporated. In 2003, it was promoted to an undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In 2011, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation of the Ministry of Education. The school is rooted in Hulunbuir, closely following the needs of the region and the industry, and promoting the application-oriented transformation and development. In 2016, it was identified as the first batch of pilot universities for overall transformation and development in the autonomous region. In the same year, it was selected as one of the 100 universities in the national "13th Five-Year Plan" application-oriented undergraduate industry-education integration development project. In 2018, it passed the review and evaluation of undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education. In 2021, it was approved as a master's degree awarding unit, and the Master of Education and the Master of Tourism Management were approved as professional degree authorization points. In the 65 years since its establishment, it has provided more than 100,000 talents of all kinds to the society. The school currently has three campuses, covering an area of 761,500 square meters, a building area of 373,300 square meters, and 210,300 square meters of teaching and administrative buildings. The school has 18 colleges, 1 experimental training center, and 4 research centers. There are 56 undergraduate majors, covering ten major disciplines of literature, art, science, education, law, engineering, history, management, economics and agriculture. There are 2 national first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 14 autonomous region first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 3 autonomous region experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 key research bases for humanities and social sciences in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region colleges and universities, 1 popular science education base in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 1 engineering research center for colleges and universities in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 1 intangible cultural heritage research base of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and 1 special research project team for philosophy and social sciences in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It has formed a good situation of "leading by advantageous disciplines and majors, and benign interaction and coordinated development of characteristic disciplines and related majors", providing strong talent support and intellectual support for regional economic and social development. There are 15,000 full-time students, including 34 master students and 22 international students. The school currently has 1,281 faculty and staff, including 695 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 249 "dual-qualified and dual-capable" teachers, 459 with senior professional titles, and 582 with doctoral and master's degrees. There are 7 famous teachers, 7 new teachers and 8 teaching teams in the autonomous region, and they have won 2 first prizes, 11 second prizes and 7 third prizes in the autonomous region's teaching achievements. 35 teachers have won the first, second and third prizes in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Teaching Skills Competition, and won 2 second prizes and 2 third prizes in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Ordinary Undergraduate College Course Ideological and Political Teaching Competition. In the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region College Teachers Teaching Innovation Competition, a total of 1 person won the first prize and 6 second prizes. In the past five years, the school has been approved for 14 national projects and 329 autonomous region-level projects; 7 ministerial and autonomous region-level scientific research platforms; published 1,204 scientific research papers (including 236 high-level papers), obtained 10 invention patents, 111 utility model patents, 4 appearance patents, and 248 software copyrights; won 213 scientific research awards at all levels and types, including 3 government awards for outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 1 outstanding science and technology worker in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and 1 person selected for the "Young Science and Technology Talent Support Program" of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Colleges and Universities.
