Langfang Normal University is a provincial undergraduate normal school. Its history can be traced back to Anci County Normal School in 1914. It was renamed Anci County Simple Normal School in 1946 and renamed Hebei Langfang Normal School in 1956. In 1964, it was upgraded to Langfang Normal College. In 2000, it was upgraded again to Langfang Normal University with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is one of the first two colleges in Hebei Province to upgrade from junior college to undergraduate. In 2005, with the approval of the Hebei Provincial People's Government, Hebei Vocational and Technical College was merged to form the new Langfang Normal College. In 2016, it was identified as a master's degree authorized project construction unit. In 2018, it passed the undergraduate teaching review and evaluation of the Ministry of Education with excellent results. In 2020, it was approved as the second batch of application transformation development pilot universities in Hebei Province.
