Chengdu Jincheng College was founded in 2005. Its predecessor was Jincheng College of Sichuan University. In May 2021, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Jincheng College of Sichuan University was transformed into an independent general college and renamed Chengdu Jincheng College.
