Introduction
The University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna is the only professional research institution for veterinary education and further studies in Austria, and is also the oldest university in the German-speaking part of Austria. It was founded in 1765. Its predecessor was the Imperial Royal Animal Hospital established in 1777 and officially established in 1896.
