Introduction and Overview
Athens School of Fine Arts is the first art school in Greece and one of the top art schools in Greece, offering bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs in multiple fields of study.
History and Establishment
Founded on January 12, 1837, it was originally called the School of Art. In 1843, it was divided into three parts, the third of which was the forerunner of the current Athens School of Fine Arts. In 1930, Minister of Education George Papandreou completely transformed and upgraded it and gave it its current name.
School Strength
Faculty: It has a strong faculty team. Many Greek legends and top artists have taught or studied here, such as sculptor Costas Dimitriadis and sculptor Yiannis Kefalinos.
