Introduction
Madonna University is the first private Catholic university in Nigeria and the first private university approved by the federal government in West Africa. It is a member of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU).
History and Establishment
It was established on May 10, 1999 in Okija, Anambra State by Father E.M.P. Edeh. In 2004, with the approval of the Nigerian National University Commission, the main campus moved to Elele, Rivers State. In 2011, the Akpogo campus in Enugu State began full operation, mainly for engineering and technical science education.
