The Academy of Fine Arts of Gdansk is located in Gdansk, a Polish city in the southeast of the Baltic Sea. It is one of the oldest and largest art academies in Pomerania and a key public higher art institution in Poland.

Establishment time: Founded in Sopot in 1945, it was originally named the National Academy of Fine Arts, and later renamed the Gdansk National Higher Academy of Fine Arts. It was awarded the status of an academy of fine arts in 1996.
Development process: In 1954, the headquarters of the academy moved from Sopot to the Great Armory in Gdansk; in 1968, the school added a new wing designed by university professor Ryszard Semka; in 2009, the project "Increasing opportunities for art education by improving Gdansk's fine arts infrastructure" was recommended by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and was approved in 2010. In 2017, an agreement was signed for the project to be co-funded by the European Fund.
