Introduction

Jan Kochanowski University is located in Kielce, the capital of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in southeastern Poland. It is a public comprehensive university with a relatively complete range of disciplines and has a certain influence in the local area and Poland.

In 1970, it was the Kielce Higher Normal School, in 1973-1979 it was the Kielce Higher Education School, in 1979-2000 it was the Kielce Jan Kochanovsky Higher Education School, in 2000-2008 it was the Kielce Jan Kochanovsky Academy, in 2008-2011 it was the Kielce Jan Kochanovsky University of Humanities, and in 2011 it was officially renamed Jan Kochanovsky University.
