Introduction

The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin is a private Catholic university in Lublin, Poland. It is also the only private institution with university status in Poland. The school was founded by Father Idzi Benedykt Radziszewski on December 8, 1918. Before 1928, the school was called the University of Lublin. On October 16, 2005, the Senate of the Polish Bishops' Conference approved the resolution to change its name to John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin.
