Introduction
African Leadership University is a network of higher education institutions operating in Mauritius and Rwanda, dedicated to developing ethical and entrepreneurial leaders for Africa and the world.
Overview
Course settings: Bachelor's programs such as entrepreneurial leadership, software engineering, international business and trade are offered, and there is also an African Leadership Business School offering a Master of Business Administration program.
Student outcomes: According to 2023 data, 73% of graduates are employed or start a business within 6 months after graduation, and 246 students have successfully started a business.

History and establishment time
In 2008, Fred Swaniker, an African leadership development expert and social entrepreneur who graduated from Stanford Business School, founded its sister institution, the African Leadership Academy.
In 2015, African Leadership University established its first campus, the African Leadership Academy, in Mauritius, welcoming more than 180 students from all over Africa.
In 2016, the African Leadership Business School at the African Leadership University Rwanda campus began the MBA program.
In 2017, the African Leadership University Rwanda undergraduate campus opened.
In 2019, it was selected as one of the 50 most innovative companies in the world by Fast Company.
