Introduction: Gaston Berger University is located about 12 kilometers outside Saint-Louis, Senegal. It is the second university in Senegal. It is named after the French-Senegalese philosopher Gaston Berger and is an important local higher education institution.
Overview: The school has four teaching and research colleges covering liberal arts, social sciences, applied sciences, technology, justice, political science, economics and business management. There are a certain number of students from different religious and socio-cultural backgrounds.
History and establishment time:
On January 14, 1975, Senegalese President Leopold Sedar Senghor laid the foundation for the school.
On January 2, 1990, it was officially established in accordance with Law No. 90-03.
On December 17, 1990, the first batch of 600 students were welcomed.
On December 4, 1996, it was renamed Gaston Berger University.
