Introduction
Lviv National Musical Academy is the oldest higher education institution of music in Ukraine and one of the oldest music institutions in Europe. It is named after the famous composer Mykola Lysenko. It mainly trains professional talents in music and awards bachelor's and master's degrees.

History
In 1796, Chopin's future teacher Joseph Elsner organized the "Conservatory of Music" in Lviv, gathering outstanding performers to carry out concert activities.
In 1826, the "Singing Academy of the Saint Cecilia Society" was established as the prototype of the modern academy.
The "National Spring" revolutionary events in 1848-1849 suspended the activities of the Conservatory of Music, which resumed in 1853. Johannes Ruchgaber was the first dean.
In 1903, M. Lysenko The Higher Conservatory of Music began its activities in Lviv.
In 1939, several educational institutions merged to form the Lviv State Conservatory of Music, which was named after Mykola Lysenko in 1944.
In 1992, it was renamed the Higher Conservatory of Music, and in 2000 it was renamed the Mykola Lysenko Lviv State Conservatory of Music, which was granted national status in 2007.
