Zhengzhou Institute of Science and Technology was founded in 1988, implemented college education in 2001, and was upgraded to a general undergraduate college in 2008. In 2015, it accepted and successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation of the Ministry of Education. In 2021, the school was approved as a "key project cultivation and construction unit for the awarding of master's degrees in Henan Province". The school expropriated 3,300 acres of land in Wanshan Science and Education Park, Xingyang City to build the Wanshan Lake Campus. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on May 16, 2023. The project plans to invest 7 billion yuan and has a total construction area of 1.1 million square meters. The Wanshan Lake Campus has a unique design, with two wings in one, literature on the left and industry on the right, and a landmark building in the middle. The new campus is built on the mountain, and will form a garden-style school with a four-in-one landscape of learning, research, mountains, ecology, and humanities.
