Dalian Medical University Zhongshan College is a private general college approved by the Ministry of Education. The college was founded in July 1999, then named Dalian Medical University Branch. In March 2004, it was confirmed as an independent college by the Ministry of Education and changed to its current name. In January 2007, it was jointly organized by Dalian Medical University and Dalian Jinzhenyuan Group. The college is located at No. 28, Aixian Street, High-tech Zone, Dalian City, with a construction area of 173,000 square meters. The college has complete teaching venues, advanced supporting facilities, and perfect information construction. There are 134 language rooms, computer rooms and various professional laboratories suitable for teaching, 511,000 books, and 33,200 square meters of sports fields. At present, 93 off-campus practical education bases have been built, including 52 medical teaching practice bases, including 1 directly affiliated hospital, 2 non-directly affiliated hospitals, and 49 teaching practice bases. The college currently has five disciplines, including medicine, management, engineering, education, and art, and 23 undergraduate majors. Among them, the nursing major has been rated as a first-class undergraduate major in Liaoning Province, a featured undergraduate major in Liaoning Province, a comprehensive reform pilot major, and a transformation and development pilot major. The public utilities management major has been rated as a transformation and development pilot major in Liaoning Province. The college currently has 308 full-time teachers, including 35 professors, 73 associate professors, and 10 provincial teaching masters. There are more than 5,000 students on campus. There are 16 teaching and research institutions, 16 party and government management institutions, 2 mass organizations, and 4 teaching auxiliary institutions. A comprehensive, design-oriented, practical experimental teaching system has been established, and comprehensive teaching centers and teaching bases such as clinical skills, basic medicine, stomatology, computer, traditional Chinese medicine, intelligent medicine, and medical testing have been built. The college has a college student mental health education center, a quality development center, a gymnasium, and a standard stadium. The college has been approved as a demonstration school for college student mental health education in Liaoning Province and a demonstration base for college student entrepreneurship incubation in Liaoning Province. It has been approved as a pilot school for the 1+X certificate system of the Ministry of Education. There are 2 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers and 1 virtual simulation experimental teaching center; 9 provincial off-campus practical education bases for college students; 2 provincial quality resource sharing courses and 29 provincial first-class undergraduate courses. The college insists on deepening education and teaching reforms and actively carries out organized scientific research. In recent years, it has obtained a total of 1,145 national and provincial quality improvement projects, 10 national industry-university cooperation and collaborative education projects, 34 provincial and municipal excellent teaching achievement awards, and 167 education and teaching reform and scientific research projects. The college continues to promote the high-quality development of dual-entrepreneurship education, build an innovation and entrepreneurship practice platform, create an innovative and entrepreneurial cultural environment with policies, systems, behaviors, and environments, and realize the integration of innovation and entrepreneurship education with professional education, humanities education, and ideological and political education. 560 national and provincial college student innovation and entrepreneurship training program projects have been obtained, and 263 national and provincial innovation and entrepreneurship competition awards have been obtained.
