The school was formerly the Baha State Teacher Training College founded by Baron Joseph Eötvös in 1870. On September 7, 1959, it was upgraded from the original Teacher Training Secondary School in accordance with the legal change. On September 1, 1962, the Hungarian National Water Authority established the Higher Water Conservancy Technical School here. In 1970, it became the Water Conservancy School of the Budapest University of Technology, and in 1979 it was merged into the Polak Mihaly Technical College in Pécs.
