Introduction

Gomel State University, also known as Francis Skolina Gomel State University, is a key university located in Gomel, the second largest city in Belarus. It is one of the largest research and training centers in Belarus and a classical university recognized by the international community.

History and establishment time

The school was founded in 1930, then known as Gomel Agricultural Pedagogical University. In the early days, it only had the Department of Physics and Mathematics, the Department of Chemistry and Biology, and the Department of Literature and Language. In 1933, it was renamed Gomel Pedagogical University, and then officially changed its name to Gomel State University in 1969. In 1988, it was awarded the title of Francesca Skarina by the Ministry of Education of Belarus.
