Yunnan University of Economics and Management is a full-time general undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The school was founded in 1992 and is one of the earliest private schools in Yunnan Province. The school adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, fully implements the party's education policy, and implements the fundamental task of cultivating people with morality. Adhering to the school motto of "virtue and practice", it clarifies the school-running positioning of "local, application-oriented, and open", adheres to the path of connotation construction and characteristic development, and forms the school-running philosophy of "taking students as the center and educating people with love", based on the needs of local development, and cultivates high-quality application-oriented talents with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. The school is located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, and currently has two campuses in Anning and Haiyuan, covering an area of 535,800 square meters. The teaching and scientific research equipment is worth 181 million yuan, and the library has 3.096 million paper books and 1.6 million electronic books. There are 24 experimental (training) centers such as preschool education, civil engineering, and basic medicine, including 1 key laboratory of Yunnan universities, 1 experimental teaching demonstration center of Yunnan universities, and 1 virtual simulation experimental center of Yunnan Province. 386 off-campus internship and training teaching bases have been built with industries, enterprises and institutions. A high-speed, stable and convenient campus network has been built, realizing "10G to buildings, 100M to desktops, and full wireless coverage". There are 11 secondary colleges including the School of Accounting and Finance, the School of Business, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Information and Intelligent Engineering, the School of Art and Media, the School of Education, the School of Medicine, and the Vocational College. There are 42 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines including management, economics, engineering, medicine, science, education, literature, art, and law. There are 3 provincial first-class professional construction sites, and 28 majors are rated as Class C (the domestic average level). It has been approved to launch one of the second batch of new engineering research and practice projects in the country, 53 collaborative education projects of the Ministry of Education's industry-university cooperation, and 251 "quality engineering" projects in Yunnan Province. It has won two first prizes and three second prizes in teaching achievements in Yunnan Province, one textbook has been selected as the first batch of "14th Five-Year Plan" national vocational education national planning textbooks, and one course has been rated as a national first-class course. There are 1,473 faculty members, including 1,069 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 82.2% are teachers with doctoral and master's degrees or above, 24.3% are teachers with senior professional titles, and 24% are dual-qualified teachers. It has a group of leading talents with rich teaching experience, including national outstanding educators, Yunnan Province's "Yunling Teaching Masters", and Yunnan Province's College Teaching Masters. It has 10 scientific research institutions, including the Modern Supply Chain Research Institute, the Industrial Intelligence Application Technology Research Institute, and the Big Data Accounting Research Institute, and has one Yunnan University Science and Technology Innovation Team. In the past three years, teachers of the school have presided over 1 National Social Science Fund, 1 Youth Project of the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Science Fund, 75 provincial and departmental scientific research projects, and 27 horizontal projects; published 107 books, edited 28 textbooks, and published 3,802 academic papers; obtained a total of 1,308 invention, utility model, and software copyright authorizations; and carried out 1,011 social service projects for local economic and social development. The school has won many honors such as "China's Excellent Private Education School", "Yunnan Civilized School", "Yunnan Province's First Modern Apprenticeship Pilot Unit", "Yunnan Province Employment and Entrepreneurship Typical Experience University", "Yunnan Province Innovation and Entrepreneurship Typical Experience University", and the school's achievements have been reported by authoritative media such as CCTV, People's Daily, and Yunnan Daily.
