Introduction
Belarusian Trade-Economic University of Consumer Cooperation is located in Gomel, Belarus. It is the only higher education institution under the Belarusian Consumer Cooperative Union. It mainly trains professionals for the consumer cooperative system and other fields of the national economy.

The history of the school began in 1964, when the Moscow Cooperation Institute of the Central Union of Consumer Cooperatives of the Soviet Union opened a consulting unit in Gomel. In 1968, the correspondence department of the Moscow Cooperation Institute was opened on this basis. In 1975, it was reorganized into the Gomel branch of the institute. In 1979, the Gomel branch became an independent institution-the Gomel Cooperation Institute of the Central Union of Consumer Cooperatives. In 1992, the institute was transferred to the supervision of the Belarusian Consumer Cooperative Union. In 1993 In 2001, it was identified as a basic educational institution in the cooperative education system of Belarus. In 2001, it was renamed the Belarusian University of Consumer Cooperative Trade and Economics. In 2004, it was granted the rights of a national higher education institution by the decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
