Wenzhou Business College is the only undergraduate business college in southern Zhejiang, northern Fujian and eastern Jiangxi. It is located in Wenzhou, the birthplace of the Yongjia School and the pioneer of China's private economy. The school is adjacent to the "Xuanmen Holy Mountain" Daluo Mountain in the south and the "Venice of Southern Zhejiang" San'an Wetland in the north. It is only a half-hour drive from the airport and the train station. The campus environment is beautiful and the facilities are first-class. The crews of CCTV's popular drama "Three Families in Wenzhou" and other dramas have come to the school to film. The school originated from the School of Information Science and Engineering and the School of Economics of Wenzhou University, which were founded in 1999. In 2005, it was merged to form an independent college-Wenzhou University City College. The famous mathematician and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Gu Chaohao wrote the name of the school in person, and the famous astrophysicist and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Sun Yisui served as the honorary dean. In 2016, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school became the first full-time private undergraduate college in Zhejiang Province that was successfully converted from an independent college, and was renamed Wenzhou Business College. Professor Li Yang, member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, chairman of the National Finance and Development Laboratory, and former vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, serves as the president. The school was approved to be included in the newly added master's degree awarding project construction unit in Zhejiang Province, and was awarded the title of Wenzhou City's "Advanced Collective for Promoting High-quality Development of Wenzhou" and Zhejiang Province's 4A-level safe campus. The school gives full play to the advantages of the "lean, efficient, flexible, and pragmatic" private mechanism, adheres to the connotation development, characteristic development, innovative development, and safe development, and takes it as its own responsibility to inherit and carry forward the spirit of Wenzhou people who "dare to be the first and are particularly capable of entrepreneurship", continues the Yongjia School of Thought of "Practical Application", adheres to the school motto of "hardening one's will and striving with the times", and practices the educational concept of "growth will make people, success will make things", based in Wenzhou, facing Zhejiang, radiating across the country, and strives to cultivate high-quality application-oriented talents with international vision and modern business spirit, and has embarked on a high-level local application-oriented university with Wenzhou's recognition. From 2019 to 2022, the school ranked first in China's first-class private universities and the school selection order for four consecutive years in the Wu Shulian China Private University Rankings. The school consists of the School of Finance and Trade, the School of Management, the International College, the School of Media and Design Arts, the School of Information Engineering, and the Urban College. It has a total of 22 undergraduate majors and 10 junior college majors, with economics and management as the main branches, and literature, art, engineering and other disciplines coordinated development. There are more than 19,000 students on campus. The school insists on serving the local area and closely connects with the needs of Wenzhou's economic and social development. It has established scientific research institutions such as the Wenzhou Research Base of the National Finance and Development Laboratory, the Wenzhou "Two Health" Research Institute, and the Wenzhou "Belt and Road" Research Center. In 2019, it ranked first in the country in the "Independent College Converted University Scientific Research Comprehensive Competitive Index". The results of the project have been repeatedly recognized by the central, provincial and municipal leaders. Among them, "Research on the Construction and Application of Financial Risk Index in China" was approved as a major project of the National Social Science Fund, "Research on the Innovation of Macroeconomic Control Theory" was approved as a key project of the National Social Science Fund, and "Theoretical Construction and Practical Research on General Secretary Xi Jinping's Important Exposition on the 'Two Healths'" was approved as a general project of the National Social Science Fund. The "Private Entrepreneurs' Healthy Growth Evaluation Index" formulated by the "Two Healths" Research Institute has become a local standard in Zhejiang Province. The school has also built the country's first "Pro-Clean Government and Business School", Wenzhou Township College, Daluoshan Cadre Education and Training Center and other talent training bases, training various talents for departments and industries inside and outside the province, and has a high influence in society. The school is rooted in the unique entrepreneurial land of Wenzhou, and has always insisted on creating the characteristics of entrepreneurial education. It integrates entrepreneurial education throughout the entire process of talent training, continuously deepens the exploration and reform of entrepreneurial education models, takes the lead in establishing the entrepreneurial business decision-making simulation laboratory "Wenzhou Business Dream Factory", launches the V-Chuang business decision-making training course, and opens an undergraduate major in entrepreneurship management. By creating a real business environment and a real entrepreneurial practice platform, the school truly realizes the integration of "teaching and doing" and cultivates students' entrepreneurial awareness and entrepreneurial ability. In 2019 and 2022, the first official paper-based test site in southern Zhejiang and the second computer-based test site in Zhejiang for the IELTS test institution were successively settled in our school.
