The college originated from the cooperative training class of Southwest People's Revolutionary University in 1950. It was jointly established by Guizhou Economic School, Guizhou Domestic Trade School and Guizhou Tea Technology and Tea Culture Secondary Vocational School. It was established in 2017 with the approval of the Guizhou Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education. It is a public full-time general college. The college is located in Guiyang and Duyun, Guizhou Province. The Guiyang campus is the "bridgehead" of the college and the employment and entrepreneurship base for college graduates. The college offers 25 majors, including big data and accounting, tea production and processing technology, and e-commerce. It has built provincial high-level professional groups, provincial characteristic backbone professional groups, provincial tea industry production and education integration training bases, provincial model worker studios, and has established several "master studios" in cooperation with well-known experts in the industry. In the past two years, college students have been selected as volunteers for the Beijing Winter Olympics and Hangzhou Asian Games to serve international sports events; in the past three years, the year-end employment rate of students has remained above 95%. There are nearly 600 faculty members, 73 of whom are associate professors or above, 146 are intermediate-level professionals, and 141 are postgraduates and doctoral students; there are 66 key teachers, 22 professional leaders, 10 off-campus professional leaders, and 12 economic and trade craftsmen. The college is a "National Civilized Unit" and a provincial "Double High" school project construction unit. It has been awarded the honorary titles of "National Youth Civilized Unit", "National Women's Contribution Advanced Collective", "Guizhou Province Advanced Grassroots Party Organization", and "Provincial Colleges and Universities' 'Three-dimensional Education' Comprehensive Reform Pilot Unit".
