Jinhua Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1994 and was approved by the Ministry of Education in 1998. It is one of the first batch of higher vocational colleges approved by the Ministry of Education. It integrates the traditions and resources of six secondary technical schools, including Jinhua Normal School, Jinhua Health School, Jinhua Agricultural School, Yiwu Normal School, Jinhua Trade and Economics School, and Zhejiang Agricultural Machinery School. Its operation can be traced back to the Jinhua Prefecture Official Junior Normal School founded in 1907, with a history of more than 100 years. The school is based on vocational education and continues to inherit and innovate. It has been listed as a national demonstration school, a national high-quality school, a key school in Zhejiang Province, and a national "double-high" school A-level construction unit. It has been rated as an advanced unit of national vocational education, and has been shortlisted in the seven "top 50" of national higher vocational "service contribution, international influence, teaching resources, education effectiveness, internship management, teaching management, and student management". It has been selected as a national high-quality school for talent training in rural revitalization and a national vocational education "double-teacher" teacher training base. It has been selected into the four major lists of "typical schools for service contribution, excellent colleges with student development index, schools with resource construction advantages, and excellent colleges with teacher development index" in national higher vocational colleges. The school currently has more than 1,600 faculty and staff, including 12 national titles such as national "Ten Thousand People Plan" teaching masters and experts enjoying special allowances from the State Council, 2 national vocational education teacher teaching innovation teams, 2 national college Huang Danian-style teacher teams, 91 provincial titles, 8 provincial teaching teams, and 1 provincial college Huang Danian-style teacher team. In recent years, the school has won 15 first prizes and 1 third prize in the National Vocational College Teaching Ability Competition, 11 national teaching achievement awards, including 2 first prizes; 2 first prizes in the National Textbook Construction Award, and a total of 121 national planning textbooks have been approved; 4 national ideological and political demonstration courses have been approved, and 4 national ideological and political teaching teachers and teams have been awarded. It has undertaken 36 national scientific research projects and nearly 436 provincial and ministerial projects, established 2 academician expert workstations, and was approved as a provincial key laboratory, provincial engineering laboratory and provincial application technology collaborative innovation center; 2,566 patents have been authorized, 463 software copyrights, and the average annual amount of horizontal technical services and training exceeds 43 million yuan. The school and Zhejiang Provincial Academy of Education and Science jointly established the "Zhejiang Modern Vocational Education Research Center", which is the only provincial social science key research base established by higher vocational colleges in the province. It has undertaken more than 60 research tasks commissioned by the Ministry of Education and the Department of Education, and its research results have been included in more than 60 provincial and higher government internal references, including 13 instructions from national leaders and more than 30 instructions from provincial and ministerial leaders. More than 500 academic articles have been published in journals such as "Education Research" and "People's Daily". The school is closely connected with Zhejiang Province's eight trillion-dollar industries and Jinhua's five hundred-billion-dollar industries, forming 10 major professional groups that effectively connect information network economy, advanced equipment manufacturing, health biomedicine, modern agriculture, culture, education and health; there are 58 enrollment majors, including 2 national high-level professional groups, 3 demonstration majors supported by the state, 2 four-year higher vocational pilot majors, 1 undergraduate teaching point major, and 4 joint junior college to undergraduate majors, with more than 20,000 full-time students. In the past two years, the total number of awards and the number of award-winning students in the National Vocational College Skills Competition have ranked first in the country. It has been successively rated as a national makerspace, a national innovation and entrepreneurship college construction unit, the first batch of vocational college innovation and entrepreneurship education bases of the Ministry of Education, and a national college career characteristic consulting studio. It is now the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units of the Ministry of Education and one of the 100 colleges and universities in the country that monitor the employment status of graduates. It sends more than 7,000 graduates to the society every year. The graduation destination implementation rate has remained above 97% for many years. The employers' satisfaction with the school is above 95 points. A large number of outstanding alumni have emerged who have won honors such as National Model Teachers, National Model of Teacher Ethics, National May 1st Labor Medal, National March 8th Red Flag Bearer, National Moral Model, Person of the Year Who Moved China, National Advanced Individual in Poverty Alleviation, National Advanced Worker and People's Satisfied Civil Servant. The school adheres to the principle of open-door education and school-enterprise cooperation, establishes a "five-in-one" education model, implements "production-oriented on-campus bases and teaching-oriented off-campus bases", and builds a "school-enterprise interest community". In recent years, it has actively created an entity-based "industry-education interest community" that integrates "industry-university-research-training-creation", and explored a vocational education quality management model that combines government, school, industry and enterprise professional governance, curriculum co-construction, faculty integration, talent co-education and evaluation co-promotion. Continuous innovation has formed "Golden Vocational Paradigms" such as "three leading and three integration" talent training reform, "four-party participation and four types of evaluation" teaching quality evaluation, "4+X" teacher assessment and evaluation, and "five vertical and five horizontal" student management services. The school has built a number of high-end industry-education entities, including the first batch of national industry-education integration projects, the first batch of national demonstration vocational education groups, Zhejiang Modern Agriculture Vocational Education Group, and the Zhejiang Central New Energy Vehicle Industry-Education Alliance. Based on regional development, the school continues to deepen school-local cooperation, takes the lead in establishing Jinhua Emergency Management College, Veterans College and Rural Revitalization College, establishes an all-weather, all-field and all-round strategic cooperation relationship with Jinhua Economic and Technological Development Zone, and signs a contract with Wuyi County Government to jointly build "Wuyi College", deploys points to carry out the "Common Prosperity +" vocational education special pilot, and sets up three affiliated secondary vocational schools, including Wuyi County Vocational School, Wucheng District Jiufeng Vocational School and Pan'an County Vocational Education Center, to form a regional vocational education group. The school was approved as the host base of the National Vocational Education National Training Project of the Ministry of Education, the National Vocational School Principal Training Base, and the New Era Vocational School Master (Master) Principal Training Program Training Base. It was approved as one of the key tasks of the Ministry of Education's learning society construction project, and 4 courses were selected as the "Capable Teachers" course of the Ministry of Education's community education; the innovative "online + offline" training model, the training covers 28 provinces and cities across the country, and the annual social training is more than 120,000 people per year, precisely serving the new pattern of high-quality development of regional industries. It has established non-independent legal entities of Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions-Waikato International College and "Jinzhiyuan Rwanda Musanze International College", carried out 2 Sino-foreign cooperative education projects, and a pilot project for the training of Sino-German dual-system talents jointly built by the province and the ministry. The school is currently a member of the World Federation of Vocational Colleges (WFCP), a member of the China-Africa Vocational Education Federation, a vice-chairman unit of the China-Africa (South) Vocational Education Alliance, and a vice-chairman unit of the "Luban Workshop" Construction Alliance.
