Hubei Communications Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public general college approved by the Hubei Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. It is sponsored by the Hubei Provincial Department of Transportation and founded in 1953. In April 2001, with the approval of the Provincial People's Government, Hubei Communications Vocational and Technical College was established on the basis of the merger of the original Hubei Communications School, Hubei Shipping School, and Hubei Automobile School. The school is a national high-quality junior college, a national "double high plan" construction unit, a national transportation vocational education demonstration college and a Hubei provincial demonstration higher vocational college. It is a training base for sergeants for the Navy, Air Force, and Armed Police Force. It is one of the top 50 service contribution colleges in the country, and an excellent college in the student development index of 100 higher vocational colleges. It is the chairman unit of the Hubei Communications Vocational Education Group and a brand college of highway transportation vocational education in Hubei Province. The school takes "emphasis on morality, inspiration, diligence, and ability" as its motto, adheres to the guiding ideology of "based on transportation, facing the society, serving development as its purpose, promoting employment as its orientation, and taking the road of combining industry, academia and research", and adheres to the education, teaching and management concept of "people-oriented, moral education first, quality-oriented, skills first, people-oriented, and service first". Over the past 70 years, the school has always shared the same fate with the development of Hubei transportation, insisted on running majors based on the industry, running majors well to promote the industry, and the professional settings have been precisely connected from "water and land" to "rail, water, road, air, and postal", forming 7 major transportation specialty groups such as road and bridge, new energy vehicles, aircraft manufacturing, intelligent transportation, modern logistics, navigation, and construction engineering.
