Changzhou Information Vocational and Technical College is affiliated to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology. It is the first national demonstrative higher vocational college in the country and the only one in Jiangsu Province. It has been selected as a construction unit of high-level higher vocational schools with Chinese characteristics and a construction unit of high-level higher vocational colleges in Jiangsu Province. It is a national demonstrative software vocational and technical college, a national software and information service outsourcing talent training base, a national high-skilled talent training base, a National Natural Science Foundation-based unit, and a demonstration base for talent training and training for the Chinese Industrial Internet of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The school was founded in 1962, initially named Changzhou Qinye Electromechanical School. In 1980, it was renamed Changzhou Radio Industry School. In October 2000, it was approved by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province to merge Changzhou Radio Industry School and Changzhou Electronic Workers University. The school is located in the Changzhou Vocational and Technical College Park, which is beautiful and full of modern atmosphere. It integrates teaching, scientific research, training, vocational skills appraisal and social services. It covers an area of 821.08 acres and a building area of 351,800 square meters. There are 12,391 full-time undergraduate and junior college students, 44 international students, and 813 faculty and staff. There are 8 secondary colleges including the School of Software and Big Data, the School of Cyberspace Security, the School of Electronic Engineering, the School of Digital Economy, the School of Intelligent Equipment, the School of Digital Creativity, the School of Continuing Education (Industrial Craftsmen College), and the School of Overseas Education, as well as 4 teaching departments including the School of Marxism, the Department of Basic Teaching, the Department of University Foreign Languages, and the Department of Physical Education. It takes the lead in building 2 national teaching resource libraries, 1 national vocational education group, and 3 regional vocational education groups (alliances). It also has 3 provincial brand majors, 7 provincial backbone majors, 7 provincial characteristic majors, 4 provincial key professional groups, 4 provincial engineering centers, 9 provincial training bases, 4 provincial outstanding science and technology innovation teams, 2 provincial key construction and cultivation bases for humanities and social sciences, 5 provincial teaching masters, and 2 municipal key laboratories. The school's achievements have been widely recognized. It has won the Teaching Achievement Award for five consecutive sessions (3 first prizes and 5 second prizes), and has won 3 special prizes, 7 first prizes, 13 second prizes for Jiangsu Province Teaching Achievements, and 1 second and third prizes for Jiangsu Province Science and Technology. It won 2 first prizes and 1 second prize for excellent textbooks in the first National Textbook Construction Award; 1 person was named an advanced individual in national textbook construction.
