Shandong Yingcai University was founded in 1998 and is a general undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The school adheres to the party building to lead development, and takes the cultivation of high-quality applied talents with patriotism as its school-running feature. It is an applied undergraduate college construction unit in Shandong Province. The school is located in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province. It currently has two campuses, located in Jinan High-tech Zone and Jinan New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion Start-up Zone, with 10 teaching colleges, 38 undergraduate majors, and 37 junior college majors. In 2013, the school was selected as one of the 33 applied technology universities reform pilot strategic research units by the Ministry of Education, and was rated as a typical university for graduate employment in China. In 2014, it was identified as a project construction unit for Shandong Province's private undergraduate characteristic famous schools. In 2015, it passed the undergraduate teaching work qualification evaluation of the Ministry of Education. In 2016, it was rated as a national practice-based education innovation and entrepreneurship base. In 2017, it was identified as a professional master's degree granting project cultivation and construction unit. In 2018, it was rated as a national university with typical experience in innovation and entrepreneurship. In 2021, it was rated as a demonstration point for party building work of two new organizations in Shandong Province, and was approved as a construction unit of Shandong Province's applied undergraduate universities. The school has built a discipline and professional system with engineering and management as the main subjects, and coordinated development of education, art, medicine, etc. There are 1 pilot for comprehensive reform of undergraduate majors of the Ministry of Education, 2 pilot majors for the Ministry of Education's industry-education integration innovation base, 1 provincial key discipline, 2 provincial demonstration majors, 3 provincial characteristic majors, 4 construction sites for characteristic majors in Shandong universities, 7 majors funded by the Shandong Private Undergraduate University Advantage and Characteristic Majors Support Plan, and 2 projects of Shandong Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan; it has 1 national quality course, 1 national quality resource sharing course, 2 national first-class courses, 13 provincial first-class majors, 17 provincial first-class courses, and 36 quality courses in Shandong universities. It has built a national experimental teaching demonstration center, a national off-campus practice education base for college students, a construction unit of the Shandong University Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, and a Shandong University Talent Training Model Innovation Experimental Zone Construction Project; it has been approved for a total of 30 projects for the teaching reform of Shandong universities and vocational education, and won 10 Shandong Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards. The school has 1 national teaching team, 2 Huang Danian-style teacher teams in Shandong universities, and 5 provincial teaching teams. The school has one National Thousand Talents Program Teaching Master and one National Teaching Master, seven Provincial Teaching Masters, and eight first prizes for teachers in the Provincial Youth Education Competition. The school adheres to open education, deepens the integration of industry and education, and actively carries out foreign exchanges and cooperation. Facing the key industries of the transformation of old and new kinetic energy in Shandong Province and the layout of the "four new" industries in Jinan City, it has started the construction of new engineering and new liberal arts, and explored the innovative practice of connecting the professional chain with the industrial chain and cultivating high-quality application-oriented talents. It has been selected into the Ministry of Education-ZTE ICT Industry-Education Integration Innovation Base and the Ministry of Education-Dawn Data Hundred Schools Project. It has co-invested and co-built modern industrial colleges with ZTE Corporation, Dawn China, Jinan High-tech Zone, Festo (China) Co., Ltd., and jointly cultivated high-quality application-oriented talents. It has established cooperative relations with 11 application-oriented universities in countries such as the United Kingdom and Thailand, and has been approved by the China Scholarship Council as the organizer of the International Undergraduate Academic Mutual Recognition Course (Applied) Project. It has carried out international cooperative education in four undergraduate majors such as preschool education, and jointly cultivated international and compound application talents with an international perspective. The students of Yingcai have a strong sense of patriotism. Since 2011, nearly 600 students have participated in volunteer services in the western region, and more than 2,500 college students have enlisted in the army. The school has been rated as a "national national defense education characteristic school" and "provincial college student conscription advanced unit", becoming one of the ten recruiting colleges in the country for the Xinjiang special project of the Western Plan. In the past three years, students have won more than 500 provincial second prizes and above in various competitions such as "Internet +" and "mathematical modeling", including more than 70 national second prizes and above. Typical college student entrepreneurship represented by Zhang Baosong and Cui Enbin, the "Top Ten Entrepreneurship Stars of Shandong College Students", has emerged. The school has been rated as "Shandong College Student Entrepreneurship Education Demonstration College" and "Shandong College Graduate Employment Advanced Collective".
