On May 2, 1905, the Academic Committee of the University of "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" in Iasi voted unanimously to establish the Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Technical Chemistry within the Faculty of Science, which was later approved by the Ministry of Culture and Public Education.
