The School of Modern Economics and Management of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics is an undergraduate college with economics and management as the main disciplines, and coordinated development of law, engineering, literature, art and other disciplines. The college was founded in 2001 and is a full-time general undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Jiangxi Province. The college is located in the Science and Education City (University City) of Gongqingcheng City, a national-level new district (Ganjiang New District) on the south foot of Lushan Mountain and the west bank of Poyang Lake, covering an area of more than 700 acres. Gongqingcheng City faces Nanchang in the south and Jiujiang in the north. The Fuyin Expressway runs through the urban area, and the Changjiu Intercity Railway has a station here. It is known as the "Pearl on the Poyang Lake and the Famous City on the Beijing-Kowloon Line". It is a vibrant city of youth, innovation and ecology, and a national new industrialization industrial base. Since its establishment, the college has relied on the strong educational resources and advantageous disciplines of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, closely focused on the school positioning and talent training goals, and took "students' success as the basis, and quality as the foundation" as the school philosophy. It has built a "three-three system" talent training model of "three-stage training, three-way development", and implemented the "three classroom linkage, three types of practice mutual promotion" education method to cultivate applied technical talents with the qualities of "faithfulness, sensitivity, integrity and perseverance". The college currently has more than 550 teachers, about 40% of whom have the title of associate professor (including) or above, and 90% have a master's degree (including) or above. They have successively obtained a number of scientific research results such as the National Natural Science Foundation, the Social Science Foundation projects and the publication of SCI papers. The college is equipped with high-end electronic reading rooms, multimedia classrooms, voice rooms and high-quality professional laboratories. The college focuses on undergraduate education and is expanding graduate education. The undergraduate course lasts four years, and there are more than 13,500 full-time undergraduate students. The college has 11 teaching departments (sections), including the Department of Accounting and the Department of Ideological and Political Theory Teaching, and 30 majors (directions), including Accounting (CPA) and Engineering Cost. In recent years, in the comprehensive evaluation of undergraduate majors in ordinary colleges and universities in Jiangxi Province, the college has 9 majors, including accounting, finance, international economics and trade, insurance, e-commerce, law, journalism, product design, information management and information systems, ranking first among similar colleges and universities in the province. The college continues to strengthen the internationalization of education, and has established cooperative relations with more than 10 well-known overseas universities, including the University of Essex in the UK, Concordia University of Wisconsin in the United States, Niagara University in Canada, Nantes Business School in France, and the National Institute of Technology of New Zealand, and has signed "4+1" undergraduate to master's degree, "2+2" dual undergraduate, and semester exchange agreements. The college offers four minor majors: accounting, finance, law and business English. On the premise of obtaining a bachelor's degree in the major, if the requirements of the minor major training program are met, the college's degree evaluation committee may approve the award of a minor major bachelor's degree from the School of Modern Economics and Management of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics.
