The college was founded in 1964. After the Jiangjin District Water Conservancy and Electric Power School, Yongchuan District Water Conservancy and Electric Power School, and Chongqing Water Conservancy and Electric Power School, it was upgraded to a full-time general higher vocational college in 2004.
