Hubei Vocational College of Science and Technology is a full-time higher vocational school organized by the People's Government of Hubei Province. The school is located in the central urban area of Wuhan and the hinterland of Optics Valley. The Guanshan campus is integrated with Wuhan Optics Valley Software Park and is integrated with many high-tech enterprises; the Luxiang campus is adjacent to Optics Valley Square, surrounded by many colleges and universities, and has convenient transportation. The school is a national modern apprenticeship system pilot unit, a 1+X certificate pilot school of the Ministry of Education, a national vocational college digital campus construction model school, a national intangible cultural heritage education characteristic school, and a national vocational education teacher teaching innovation team project construction unit; it is a Class A project construction unit for the construction of high-level higher vocational schools in Hubei Province, a high-quality higher vocational college in Hubei Province, a provincial high-quality vocational teacher training base, a Hubei service outsourcing talent training (training) base, and a Hubei family service vocational training demonstration base; it has established provincial platforms such as the Hubei Community Education Guidance Center, the Hubei Education Credit Bank, the National Open University Learning Achievement Recognition Center (Hubei), the Hubei Adult Higher Education Public Service Platform, and the Hubei Migrant Workers' Academic Ability Improvement Program Office. The school is based in Optics Valley, serves Hubei, and faces the whole country. It actively connects with Hubei Province's "51020" modern industrial system and Wuhan City's "965" industrial layout, and has established six major professional groups, including intelligent manufacturing technology, artificial intelligence technology application, software technology, cruise tourism, e-commerce, and character image design. There are 36 specialized majors, including 10 national key majors, pilot majors of the Ministry of Education's modern apprenticeship system, provincial brand majors, and provincial characteristic majors. The two professional groups of intelligent manufacturing technology and artificial intelligence technology application were approved as provincial high-level professional groups. The school vigorously implements the "talent-strengthening school" strategy. There are more than 560 faculty and staff, and 40% of full-time teachers are associate senior teachers or above. There are 25 Hubei teaching masters, Chutian skill masters, Hubei Provincial Government special allowance experts, specially appointed professors, and hosts of the "Hubei Master Studio". 9 teachers have been hired as master's tutors of Hubei University of Technology, and teachers have won the second prize at the national level in the National Vocational College Teaching Ability Competition. The school has deepened the integration of production and education, and the combination of schools and enterprises. It has carried out school-enterprise cooperation with many leading enterprises such as Huawei, Tencent, iFlytek, Fiberhome Technology, and Dongfeng Honda, and jointly built production-education integration bases and industrial colleges. It has built 5 national and provincial training bases, 256 internship and training bases inside and outside the school, and the average value of teaching equipment per student is more than 10,000 yuan. Actively serving the national strategy and the economic and social development of Hubei, it cooperated with Huawei to build the Kunpeng Industrial College, the first vocational college in Hubei Province, and operated the Hubei Meiye Vocational Education Group in an entity, and carried out in-depth school-enterprise cooperation. The school currently has more than 10,000 full-time students, and the employment rate of graduates in the past three classes has remained stable at more than 96%. Nearly 700 students have won awards in provincial and above vocational skills competitions, won 3 first prizes, 11 second prizes, and 8 third prizes in the National Vocational Skills Competition, and won the national silver medal and provincial gold medal in the China "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The school actively carries out foreign cooperation and exchanges, and has established cooperative relations with many foreign universities in the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Cambodia and other countries, and established the first overseas learning (training) center in Malaysia.
