Inner Mongolia Hongde University of Arts and Sciences, formerly known as Hongde College of Inner Mongolia Normal University, is a full-time private undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The college began to recruit undergraduate students in 2008; in 2010, it was approved to carry out education for international students; in 2016, it launched dual-degree education and was identified as a pilot school for the transformation and development of undergraduate colleges in the autonomous region; in 2017, it was approved for "junior college to undergraduate" enrollment; on March 18, 2020, it was successfully transferred with the approval of the Ministry of Education (Jiaofa Letter [2020] No. 16), becoming the first independent private undergraduate college in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The college is located in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is adjacent to Baita International Airport in the east, Hohhot East Railway Station in the west, and Metro Line 1 and Beijing-Hohhot High-speed Railway on the north and south sides. The transportation is very convenient. The college is adjacent to the Inner Mongolia Museum, Ulanqat Grand Theater, and Inner Mongolia Science and Technology Museum. It is located in the cultural center of Hohhot and is the closest college to the autonomous region government and Hohhot Municipal Government. The college has advanced teaching facilities and a beautiful campus environment. In 2016, it was rated as a "Garden-style Unit in Hohhot" by the Hohhot Garden Bureau, and in 2020 it was rated as a "Garden-style Campus in the Capital" by the Hohhot Greening Committee. The college sets up disciplines and majors based on talent training positioning and market demand. It currently has 6 major disciplines, including economics, education, literature, engineering, management and art, 15 first-level disciplines, covering 30 undergraduate majors. The 30 undergraduate majors are: finance, insurance, preschool education, primary education, Chinese language and literature, English, journalism, radio and television, computer science and technology, network engineering, new media technology, civil engineering, engineering management, marketing, accounting, financial management, auditing, property management, public utilities management, elderly care service management, e-commerce, tourism management, tourism management and service education, radio and television editing and directing, animation, fine arts, painting, photography, visual communication design, and environmental design. Among them, seven majors, namely preschool education, English, radio and television editing and directing, accounting, fine arts, tourism management, and engineering management, have been approved as first-class undergraduate major construction sites in the autonomous region. There are also 6 junior college majors. Since its establishment, the college has always adhered to the socialist direction of running schools under the guidance of the school-running philosophy of "establishing schools for the public and teaching for the country", conscientiously implemented the educational policies of the Party and the country, and achieved leapfrog development with the guiding ideology of "safe campus, connotation construction, innovative development, and striving for higher levels". In recent years, the college has been called "the most strictly managed university in Inner Mongolia" by students and parents. In terms of teaching, the college regards teaching quality as its lifeline, and strengthens daily teaching management by checking the class situation every day, holding department head meetings every week, and organizing teaching inspections every semester. In terms of student management, the comprehensive quality of students is improved through the "five major projects" of team building (humanistic quality development, excellent management training, campus civilization construction, social volunteers and social practice), and the daily management of students is strengthened through the "four inspection systems" (inspecting morning exercises, evening self-study, staying out at night, and labor education). The college aims to cultivate applied talents, and strives to cultivate applied talents with broad caliber, solid foundation, innovative spirit and practical ability. According to the market demand for talents, the college timely adjusts the talent training plan, continuously deepens the reform of the curriculum system, strengthens the cultivation of students' professional ability, and improves the job competence and employment competitiveness of graduates. The college currently has 18,000 students. As of 2023, it has trained and sent out about 27,000 graduates, which has been recognized by employers and won a good social reputation. The political core position and guarantee and supervision role of the party organization have promoted the healthy and rapid development of the college. At the beginning of the establishment of the school, the college put forward the guiding ideology of party building work of "three reassurances" and "three fronts", and listed party building work as the focus of the college's long-term work. "Three reassurances" means to reassure the party and the government, parents and students, and faculty and staff; "three fronts" means that party building work should be in the forefront of all work within the college; the party building work of the college should be in the forefront of private colleges in the district; and the party building work of the college should be in the forefront of all kinds of social organizations in Hohhot. In recent years, the scale of the college has continued to expand, its educational achievements have become increasingly outstanding, and its popularity and reputation have also increased accordingly. It has won honors such as "National Advanced Independent College", "China's Excellent Private Higher Education Institution", "Autonomous Region Safe Campus", and "Advanced Collective in the Education System of the Region". The college party committee has been successively awarded the titles of "Inner Mongolia Normal University Advanced Party Committee", "Autonomous Region Advanced Grassroots Party Organization", and "Social Organization 'Six Good' Party Organization Demonstration Site".
