The school has always risen and fallen with the fate of the nation and the pulse of the times. A hundred years ago, the semi-colonial and semi-feudal society in China was further deepened. Against this background, in the first year of Xuantong (1909), the Qing government set up the "Zhili Supplementary School" in Baoding, and the Zhili Education Commissioner appointed Mr. Zhang Liangbi, the provincial inspector, as the first director. In 1912, the school was renamed "Zhili A-type Industrial School", which was the only secondary industrial school in Zhili. In 1934, it was named "Hebei Provincial Baoding Advanced Industrial Vocational School". In 1937, the Japanese invaders invaded China in an all-round way and Baoding fell. The school was forced to suspend classes and move to Shisi Town, Xin'an County, Henan Province, Zhouzhi, Shaanxi Province, Xi'an and other places to run schools with difficulty. In 1946, the school was reopened in the north of Fazheng Bridge, Xinkaihe, Tianjin (the former site of Tianjin Commercial Vocational School), and the "Hebei Provincial Baoding Industrial Vocational School" was established. In 1947, the students and some teaching staff of the "Hebei Provincial Industrial Vocational School" in Xi'an were merged, and then the school name was restored to "Hebei Provincial Baoding Senior Industrial Vocational School". In 1949, it moved from Tianjin to Shijiazhuang and was named "Hebei Industrial School". In 1982, it was renamed "Hebei Chemical School". In May 2002, with the approval of the Hebei Provincial Government, it was upgraded and rebuilt into "Hebei Chemical and Pharmaceutical Vocational and Technical College", and the school entered the ranks of higher vocational education.
