Our school was approved by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province in 2013 and registered by the Ministry of Education. It was restructured into a full-time general college based on the original Gannan Education College. It has integrated and absorbed the educational resources of Ganzhou Normal School, Gannan Education College (Normal College Department of Gannan Normal College), Gannan Literature and Art School, Ningdu Normal School (Gannan Branch of Jiangxi Education College), Longnan Normal School, Ruijin Normal School and Xingguo Normal School. It is a full-time college focusing on teacher education, covering professional disciplines such as literature, science, sports and art. The predecessor of the school can be traced back to Qiannan Normal School founded in 1903. The school is located in the college park of Rongjiang New District, Ganzhou City, covering a total area of 1,000 acres and a construction area of 310,000 square meters. The overall building adopts a postmodern European style and incorporates the elements of the square walled house of the Hakka people in southern Ganzhou. It is one of the ten most beautiful campuses in Jiangxi Province. There are 10 teaching departments (departments, colleges), including the Chinese Department, the Mathematics Department, and the Foreign Languages Department, as well as 10 normal majors such as primary education and 14 non-normal majors such as business English. There are more than 12,000 full-time students and more than 670 faculty and staff, including more than 270 teachers with master's and doctoral degrees and 168 teachers with senior professional titles. In recent years, our school has adhered to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implemented the Party's education policy, and adhered to the connotation-oriented development path, and the overall level of the school has reached a new level. Since 2020, teachers have won 3 national third prizes and 20 provincial third prizes in the teaching ability competition of the vocational college skills competition. In 2022, they were awarded the Best Progress Award by the Provincial Department of Education; teachers of the school have won 3 national projects and 143 provincial scientific research projects; 5 new courses have been recognized as provincial-level boutique online open courses, and "Continuing the Red Classics and Singing the Song of Youth" was rated as the "Top Ten Cases" of Red Cultural Practice in Colleges and Universities in the Province. Since 2020, it has ranked first in the performance appraisal of party building in municipal colleges for three consecutive years. In 2022, it was again awarded the title of "Jiangxi Province Safe Campus". In the comprehensive assessment of municipal colleges in 2022, our school was rated as the first in the first class. In 2023, the school was established as a cultivation unit of the provincial vocational college curriculum ideological and political teaching and research demonstration center, the Foreign Languages Department was rated as the "benchmark department" of grassroots party building in the province, and the student party branch of the Foreign Languages Department was rated as the "model branch" of grassroots party building in the province. The school is based in Ganzhou, facing Jiangxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and radiating across the country. It highlights the school's characteristics of primary education, preschool education, calligraphy art, Gannan tea-picking opera performances, etc., and has made positive contributions to the cultivation of Gannan tea-picking opera talents. The performing artists Long Hong, Yang Jun, and Du Huan, who won the highest award for Chinese drama performance art, the "Plum Blossom Award", are all graduates of our school. Calligraphy is a traditional characteristic teaching course of our school. In recent years, teachers and students of the school have won many awards in calligraphy exhibitions at the provincial level and above. In the 6th National College Students Art Exhibition, 2 first prizes and 1 second prize were awarded for calligraphy works; in the 10th Jiangxi College Students Art Exhibition, all first prizes in the higher vocational college group were won; and 12 students were selected for the 12th Jiangxi Calligraphy Exhibition. At present, the school vigorously promotes the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation, and jointly builds the Guoke Digital Industry College with Fujian Guoke Information Technology Co., Ltd., and cooperates with Huazhu Group to open the "Huazhu Talent Class" for hotel management majors. In the future, the school will adhere to the school-running direction of "outstanding advantages in normal education and distinctive characteristics of vocational education", and strive to build a high-level higher vocational school in the province.
