Nanchang University Gongqing College is an independent college with engineering as its main discipline and coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as economics, management and literature. The college is located in Gongqing City, Jiangxi Province, on the southern foot of Lushan Mountain and the bank of Poyang Lake, covering an area of 1,014 acres. It has a superior geographical location and a beautiful campus environment. The college began to run in 1985. It was originally named "Jiangxi University Gongqing Vocational College". Comrade Hu Yaobang, then General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, personally wrote the name of the college. In 1991, the college was renamed "Jiangxi University Gongqing College". In 1993, the former Jiangxi University and Jiangxi University of Technology merged to form Nanchang University, and the college was renamed "Nanchang University Gongqing College". In 2002, with the approval of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, the Jiangxi Provincial Development and Planning Commission, and the Jiangxi Provincial Economic System Reform Office, social capital was introduced to reform it into a secondary college of Nanchang University. In 2003, the college was confirmed as an independent college after evaluation by the Ministry of Education. It builds a professional cluster with engineering as the main trunk, gives priority to the development of information technology professional fields, and focuses on the characteristics of clothing majors; optimizes and integrates financial and management majors to form a professional cluster with comparative advantages in economics and management; gradually adds new majors such as education and big health, and systematically designs and constructs a "public platform + professional module" curriculum system for professional clusters; establishes a teaching quality assurance system that is compatible with it. The college has 7 teaching units including the Department of Economics and Management, the Department of Chinese and Education, the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, the Department of Engineering Technology, the Department of Information Engineering, the Department of Art and Design, and the Department of Ideological and Political Courses, as well as several scientific research platforms such as the Institute of Art and Design. There are 34 majors, including 18 undergraduate majors and 12 junior college majors. The college currently has 436 faculty members. The college actively promotes teaching reform, strengthens connotation construction, improves teaching quality, takes teaching style construction as the core work, carries out various advanced figures selection among teachers, and continuously improves teachers' professional level and service ability. The college currently has 10,535 undergraduate and junior college students. Teachers and students have repeatedly achieved outstanding results in various competitions across the country and the province.
