Zaozhuang Vocational College is a full-time public general higher vocational college approved by the Shandong Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. It is a construction unit of Shandong Province's high-quality higher vocational college construction project, a national high-skilled talent training base, and a national vocational college campus culture construction "one school, one product" cultural brand demonstration base. It was awarded the "China Folk Culture Education Demonstration School" by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Shandong Provincial Department of Education awarded the Shandong Province Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture Inheritance Base, and the Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Association awarded the Shandong Province Popular Science Education Base. The college took the lead in establishing the Shandong Vocational College Labor Education Research Alliance. The college has two campuses in Zaozhuang New City and Taierzhuang Ancient City, covering an area of more than 1,000 acres and more than 16,000 students. Focusing on the needs of regional economic and social development, the school has opened 12 major categories, including medicine and health, agriculture, machinery manufacturing, tourism, chemical industry, electronic information, and construction. At present, it has 59 higher vocational majors, including 3 national key majors, 2 majors supported by the central government (mechatronics technology and tourism management), 3 Shandong specialty majors (CNC technology, tourism management, and stomatology), 2 Shandong brand professional groups (medicine and health professional group, mechanical and electrical professional group), and 1 Shandong high-level professional group (CNC technology professional group). There are 2 pilot majors for the integrated training of vocational and undergraduate courses (CNC technology and applied chemical technology), 18 Shandong quality courses, and 19 Shandong quality resource sharing courses. The college adheres to the school motto of "honoring morality and ability, inspiring learning" and the school spirit of "being sincere and kind, being realistic and innovative", takes moral education as the foundation, serving development as the purpose, promoting employment as the orientation, and adhering to the school-running philosophy of "morality and ability, learning and doing, win-win cooperation, and characteristic development". With the goal of building a high-quality higher vocational college, it highlights the service to the real economy, the health and elderly care industry, and the tourism industry. It has built a talent training model of "government, school, enterprise and industry linkage, course, post, certificate and standard integration, and learning, teaching and competition integration", explored and implemented the "college system" quality education reform, highlighted vocational ability training, focused on comprehensive quality training, strengthened campus culture construction, and vigorously implemented the craftsman spirit cultivation project to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents with craftsman spirit for local economic and social development. The college has successively hosted the National Health Vocational College Stomatology Skills Competition, the 5th "Huang Yanpei Cup" National Stomatology Skills Competition, the "Rijin Cup" National Stomatology Skills Competition, the Shandong Provincial Selection of the National Vocational College Skills Competition Chemical Production Technology Competition, and the Shandong Provincial Vocational College Skills Competition (Higher Vocational Group) Chemical Production Technology Competition. Students have won more than 800 awards in various skill competitions above the Shandong Provincial level. The chemical production technology competition has won the national first prize for four consecutive times. In 2018, the first prize of the group in the National Vocational College Skills Competition was won. In 2018, the oral medicine major won the first place in the group of the National Health Vocational College Oral Skills Competition. In 2019, it won the first prize in the National Health Vocational College Oral Medicine Skills Competition. The first prize in the group of the 11th Shandong University Student Science and Technology Festival. The first prize in the final of the 15th National Higher Vocational College "Invention Cup" University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Students participated in 89 national and provincial vocational skills and innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, including 1 national first prize, 1 second prize, and 1 individual first prize. To broaden the channels for running schools and improve students' employability, the school took the lead in establishing a municipal vocational education group, carried out all-round, in-depth and close cooperation with the government, industry and enterprises, and established mixed-ownership secondary colleges such as Sino-German Noho Automotive College, Manbotong College and Binhai Xunteng Smart Industry College; established long-term and stable school-enterprise cooperation with more than 100 enterprises such as Shenlan Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Shandong Hanqi Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Elite Education Co., Ltd., Haier Group, Hisense Group and Shandong Shunhe Group; the graduates' good professional qualities and technical skills are favored by enterprises, and the employment rate has remained at a high level year after year. The college has successfully hosted the first Chinese welder TV competition, the final of the third national employee vocational skills competition, the national chemical production technology competition selection, etc. It has been established as a national high-skilled talent training base, a national employee vocational skills training base, a national migrant worker training demonstration base, a national employee education and training demonstration point, a national Lei Feng education base, and a Qilu craftsman craft experience base.
