Wuhan University of Arts and Sciences is an independent private undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The school was founded in 2002 and was transferred from the former Jianghan University College of Arts and Sciences. The main campus of the school is located in the core area of the Yangtze River New Area on the banks of the Yangtze River and the shores of the Luoshui Lake. There are nearly 15,000 students on campus. The school aims to be a "domestic well-known, provincial first-class, distinctive high-level applied private college", adheres to the guidance of high-quality party building, and runs a university that satisfies the people; since its establishment, it has accumulated tens of thousands of professional talents of various types for the society. The school currently has 46 undergraduate majors and 16 junior college majors; among them, the finance major is a key major cultivated by independent colleges in Hubei Province, and the English major is a major in the "comprehensive reform pilot" of undergraduate colleges in Hubei Province. Courses such as "Biochemistry", "Introduction to Chinese Culture (English)", "Marketing", "Video Production and Editing", "Basic Nursing", "News Photography", "Advertising Creativity and Planning", "Brand Image Planning", "New Media Advertising", and "C Language Programming" are listed as "First-Class Undergraduate Courses in Hubei Province". The English Department of the School of Foreign Languages was rated as "Excellent Grassroots Teaching Organization of Hubei Universities", the School of Humanities and Arts was rated as "Model Party Branch Cultivation and Creation Unit of Party Building Work in Universities in the Province", and the Nursing Department of the Medical College and the Law Department of the School of Political Science and Law were rated as "Model Posts for Female Employees in Wuhan Education System to Make Contributions". The school has an international exchange center and jointly cultivates international talents with well-known foreign universities. Relying on the continuous investment of the founder Wuhan Herun Consortium for many years, the school continues to strengthen its school conditions and faculty team building. The school has built a non-destructive testing laboratory, an MRI nuclear magnetic resonance laboratory, a CT laboratory, a comprehensive human specimen laboratory and an engineering comprehensive training center. The teaching and research equipment and library collections can fully meet the needs of education and teaching and student learning. The school currently has 778 full-time and part-time teachers, of which nearly 30% have senior professional titles and 25% have dual-qualified teachers. The school's 2023 nursing graduates' pass rate for the National Nursing Qualification Examination reached 98.7% (the national average pass rate is 36%), which has been far higher than the national average for many consecutive years (the average pass rate of our school in the past five years is 98.2%); the corresponding employment rate reached 92% (of which the employment rate in Class 3A hospitals reached 69.74%).
