Nanning Vocational and Technical College is a full-time comprehensive higher vocational college organized by the Nanning Municipal People's Government. The school was formerly known as Nanning Vocational University, which was founded in 1984. In November 2009, the school passed the demonstration construction acceptance of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, becoming the first of the 28 national demonstration higher vocational colleges and the first in Guangxi. In July 2019, the school was recognized as a "National High-quality Higher Vocational College" by the Ministry of Education. In December 2019, it was successfully selected as one of the 56 high-level school construction units in the "China-style High-level Vocational Schools and Majors Construction Plan" in the country. The school was selected as a pilot institution of the modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education, an advanced unit of national vocational education, an advanced unit of the national education system, a training base for innovative talents in China's high-tech zones, and a national technical and skilled talent training center for the Belt and Road Initiative. The school covers an area of 1,725 acres and a construction area of 570,000 square meters. It has 13 secondary colleges and 61 majors. There are more than 17,000 full-time higher vocational students and more than 3,000 adult continuing education students. The school has built a high-level "dual-teacher" teaching team led by the national excellent teaching team and a combination of full-time and part-time teachers. Up to now, our school has more than 1,000 faculty members, including 970 full-time teachers. There are more than 430 high-level talents at or above the municipal level, including more than 20 national talents such as national teaching masters, national model teachers, national excellent teachers, national counselors of the year, and Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Outstanding Contribution Award, more than 50 autonomous region-level talents such as Guangxi teaching masters, Guangxi craftsmen, and Guangxi technical experts, and more than 360 municipal talents such as Nanning City Special Experts and Nanning City Chief Technicians. There is 1 national vocational education teacher teaching innovation team, 1 national curriculum ideological and political demonstration teaching team, 1 national skill master studio, 8 provincial teaching teams, 1 high-level innovation team of autonomous region colleges and universities, 1 autonomous region skill master studio, 3 Nanning City skill master studios, and 1 Nanning City talent highland. The school closely focuses on the "1+1+4+3+N" target task system for building a magnificent Guangxi with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and deeply promotes the construction of three national platforms: the National Intellectual Property Public Service Platform, the New Generation Information Technology Collaborative Innovation Center, and the "Belt and Road" Digital ASEAN Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Operation Collaborative Innovation Center. Connecting with the key pillar industries and emerging industrial clusters and industrial chains in the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone of Guangxi, such as electronic information, advanced equipment manufacturing, construction and real estate, and modern services, the layout and adjustment of the professional system is constructed. With the two national high-level professional groups of architectural interior design and software technology as the leader, it drives the construction of 8 professional groups such as intelligent manufacturing, hotel management, modern logistics, smart finance, cultural media, creative design, international services, and new energy vehicles. It has laid out 10 major professional categories such as electronics and information, equipment manufacturing, civil engineering, finance and trade, education and sports, culture and art, transportation, tourism, news communication, and light industry and textiles. It has 4 national teaching achievement awards, 1 national boutique major, 6 national demonstration key construction majors, 9 national boutique courses, and 7 national boutique resource sharing courses to create a highland for the cultivation of innovative technical and skilled talents. The school was selected as one of the first batch of pilot colleges of the 1+X certificate system in the country, and implemented 18 majors of modern apprenticeship training reform. The school actively explores the joint development of undergraduate vocational education with undergraduate colleges. It jointly organizes tourism management and other industry-education integrated application-oriented undergraduate majors with Guilin Tourism College; carries out joint training of high-end application-oriented undergraduate talents with Guilin University of Electronic Science and Technology; and jointly carries out undergraduate education for targeted training of teachers in county-level secondary vocational schools with Nanning Normal University. The school integrates and develops with world-renowned companies such as Huawei, JD Logistics, China United Group, Alibaba, and Li Ning Sports, as well as leading enterprises in Nanning. It has established 10 characteristic industry colleges, including the Construction Prefabricated Building Industry College, Nanning ICT Industry College, RCEP Cross-border E-commerce Industry College, Baode Artificial Intelligence Modern Industry College, Metaverse Industry College, Li Ning Fashion Industry College, China-ASEAN Digital New Cultural and Creative Industry College, China-ASEAN Smart Logistics Industry College, Smart Finance Industry College, and Guangxi Guihua Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College, and established Guangxi Artificial Intelligence Vocational Education Group, Guangxi National Skills Vocational Education Group, Guangxi Catering Vocational Education Group, and Nanning Vocational Education Group. 4 vocational education groups. So far, the school has built 59 on-campus training bases and 271 training rooms, with a total equipment value of 385 million yuan. It has established professional projects of the "Ten Million Project" in six autonomous regions, and has a number of world-leading training centers such as the GE Intelligent Platform Automation System Application Training Room and the first ABB Industrial Robot Innovation Application Center in the southwest. In December 2018, the largest public training base for vocational skills in the southwest with a total investment of 1 billion yuan was established in the school, adding five advanced training centers such as modern control, modern electronic information, modern manufacturing, modern services and ethnic crafts, food engineering and biomedicine to expand the school's space. The school insists on open education, taking the construction of the China-ASEAN Education Open Cooperation Pilot Zone as an opportunity, and actively integrating into the "construction of an open cooperation and innovation highland for vocational education facing ASEAN", and has signed inter-school cooperation agreements with 10 universities in ASEAN countries, and has established cooperative relations with 256 high-quality enterprises in and outside the region. The "Central United Front Work Department Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Youth Cultural Exchange and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base" was established to promote regional exchanges and cooperation in vocational education. Since its establishment, the school has trained and supplied more than 120,000 highly skilled applied talents to the society, providing strong talent support for regional economic construction and social development.
